Network for transmitting data between applications with application specific adapters

The computer network provides communication between applications [101-104,201,201] having proprietary interfaces using a data broker [1]. The data broker has an application specific adapter [50] for each application and consists of am XML encoder-decoder, a generic interface and information interface.
