It is an object of the invention, to improve the performance of hot forming processes and, therefore, a method of forming of at least a part of an article as disclosed, wherein said article comprises a material selected from the group consisting of transparent, semitransparent and opaque materials, wherein said at least a part of said article is primarily heated by means of radiation and said heated part of said article is formed and said method is characterized in that said heating is a semi-homogeneous heating.
