Support poles are mounted on either side of the bench, then main beams are secured on top of these poles so that they extend parallel to the bench on either side of it and then a sleeve is fitted so that it extends through the bench and the bench plate is secured inside the sleeve. The part of the sleeve protruding above the bench plate is then removed.
