Process for production of polypeptides

A vector for producing a polypeptide heterologous to prokaryotic cell is described. The vector comprises (1) anti-termination nucleic acid that inhibits intragenic transcription termination with a non-lamba promoter, (2) RNA encoding the polypeptide with a non-lamba promoter thereof and a RNA recognition site for binding anti-termination protein produced from the nucleic acid located 5' of the RNA encoding the polypeptide. The vectors can be used to produce heterologous polypeptides in prokaryotic host cells. Also described is the use of nucleic acids encoding GreA or GreB proteins in producing full-length heterologous polypeptides in prokaryotic cells. Preferably the heterologous proteins polypeptides are human thrombopoietin or human fibroblast growth factor-5.
