The stretcher has a horizontal layer plate (2) on which a rectangular mattress (3) is positioned to receive a patient. The plate is integrated with a frame (4) formed of legs (6), cross-pieces (7) and side-frames (8), and has four multidirectional wheels (5) positioned at four corners of a lower end of the frame (4). Mattress transferring units (9) are positioned between the mattress and the plate.
