20kDa antigen from Branhamella catarrhalis

A Branhamella catarrhalis antigen has an apparent molecule mass of about 20 kDa as determined by SDS-PAGE and has the N-terminal sequence ISYGNSADAQPYVGAKIGQVDAKQINNKNT. Nucleic acid, host cells, vectors and antibodies are also described. The protein or antigenic fragment can be used for preparing immunogenic composition such as vaccines for the prevention or treatment of respiratory infection or otitis media. Methods of detecting or diagnosing B,catarrhalis comprise detecting the presence of the protein or antibodies in a sample are described.
