PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus with which the focal position of an optical system is easily displaced to a standard photographing position and a macro photographing position by a hand operation. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus 10a is provided with a prism unit (an optical system) 20, a case 2, an imaging element 15, a supporting mechanism (a supporting arm 2d, a supporting shaft 3, a shaft guide 4 and a coil spring 5), a switching member (an operating member) 8 and an operating lever (a moving amount converting mechanism)7. The case 2 holds the prism unit 20. The supporting mechanism holds the case 2 so that at least a first displacement amount S1 is made movable along the direction of an optical axis of a luminous fluxλ<SB>0</SB>being emitted from the optical system to match the focus of the optical system with a first focusing position P1 and a second focusing position P2. The switching member 8 is hand operated along the direction of the moving direction of the case 2 and moves a second displacement amount S2 that is larger than the first displacement amount S1.
