PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide new structure capable of accurately detecting a near end, in regard to a printer, in which a recording paper roll is thrown for housing. SOLUTION: The printer has a first sensor and a second sensor in a housing unit for housing a rolled recording paper. The first sensor is arranged to detect existence of the recording paper roll possible to be used and not to detect existence of the recording paper roll just before using it, and the second sensor is arranged not to detect existence of the recording paper roll possible to be used and not to detect existence of the recording paper roll just before using it.
