PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a repopulating method allowing movement of non-magnetic micro substances, in particular, bio-components, organism cells or microorganisms, using a simple device. SOLUTION: Micro substances comprising a non-magnetic material containing magnetic particulates or having them adhered thereto, are arranged on a substrate; the tip of a probe of a magnetic material arranged along the substrate and having a function as an electromagnet is brought close to the micro substances; then a magnetic field is formed at the tip of the probe to shut the micro substances in the magnetic field. In a state of forming the magnetic field, the tip of the probe is moved along the substrate to move the micro substances on the substrate, then by extinguishing the magnetic field at a desired position on the substrate, the micro substances are repopulated on the substrate.
