PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the visibility of cooked rice inside a pot, the easiness of loosening the cooked rice, and the handleability of attaching and detaching the pot or the like by inclining the pot just by opening a lid regardless of a rice cooking amount. SOLUTION: A rice cooker 1 is provided with the pot 2 for housing rice and water, a pot housing part 5 for housing the pot 2, a pot heating means 3 for heating the pot 2, a pot temperature detection means 4 for detecting the temperature of the pot 2, a pot inclination means 22 for inclining the pot 2, the lid 6 for covering the opening part of the pot 2, and a lid opening/closing detection means 27 for detecting the opening/closing operation of the lid 6. When the lid opening/closing detection means 27 detects the opening operation of the lid 6, the pot inclination means 22 inclines the pot 2, and when it detects the closing operation of the lid 6, the pot inclination means 22 releases the inclination of the pot 2.
