MOVEMENT DETECTION APPARATUS, MOVEMENT DETECTION METHOD, AND IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that movements of parts having large movements, of a moving image having large inter-frame movements are not sufficiently detected by selecting a range wherein the generating frequency of movement vectors is highest and taking it as a movement search range when controlling the movement search range.

SOLUTION: A movement vector detection means 101 detects movement vectors for prescribed processing unit. The number of movement vectors is counted by a movement vector counting means 102. A search range determination means 103 determines a movement search range in the movement vector detection means 101 in accordance with the distribution of the numbers of movement vectors.
