<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power semiconductor device which is able to have a long life even under an environment of a great temperature variation. <P>SOLUTION: The electric power semiconductor device 10 includes an inverter 1, piping 2, 3, valves 4, 5, and ECU 6. The inverter 1 is connected to a radiator 20 through the piping 2, 3, and drives an alternating motor according to a signal PWM from the ECU 6. The inverter 1 is cooled by the radiator 20 and is cooled with cooling water circulated through the piping 2, 3 by a water pump 30. The valve 4 is located at the piping 2 near an inlet into which the cooling water enters the inverter 1, and the valve 5 is located at the piping 3 near an outlet from which the cooling water goes out from the inverter 1. The ECU 6 opens the valves 4, 5 by signals OP1, OP2 respectively when the inverter 1 drives and closes the valves 4, 5 by signals CL1, CL2 respectively when the inverter 1 stops. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
