<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sharpen an X-ray image by removing the edge blurs, formed in the captured image of an imaging object to obtain a clear edge in an X-ray image capturing apparatus for photographic the imaging object by means of irradiation with X rays. <P>SOLUTION: Image density difference detecting intervals are set on the basis of edge blur width, which is calculated geometrically according to the arranging relation of an X-ray source, an imaging part and the imaging object, with respect to the X-ray image and successively, arranged at different positions in respective image processing regions to detect the position where the maximum image density difference is an edge position. Further, the image densities of the respective adjacent image processing regions, arranged in front of and behind the edge position are converted to the set image density set, according to the density profile calculated from the material data and thickness data of the imaging object to obtain a sharp image wherein the edge position is set as a boundary. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
