PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coffin for a pet that can soften empty feelings of an owner who lost one's pet, and also to provide a coffin for a pet having a coffin body equipped with an alter for carrying out a funeral. SOLUTION: The coffin 1 for the pet is used for lying the dead body of the pet in state. The coffin comprises the coffin body 2 for housing the dead body of the pet and an mandorla 3 standing upward from the upper surface of the coffin body 2. The mandorla 3 has a central wall section 7 located on the rear side of the coffin body 2, side wall sections 8 and 8 located on the lateral sides of the coffin body 2 and an alter section 9 which is located above the upper surface of the coffin body 2 and is surrounded by the central wall section 7 and the side wall sections 8 and 8.
