PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a binder resin for toner that is considered to have low load on the environment, which is required from the market, has excellent low-temperature fixing properties, offset resistance, development durability, grindability, blocking resistance and antistatic stability at high temperature and high humidity and an electrophotographic toner. SOLUTION: The binder resin contains no tin and comprises a polyester resin that contains no bisphenol A skeleton and has a structural unit derived from a rosin as an acid component.
