摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display element whose instability of the display state is suppressed and which requires no fixing process or the like turning into a factor to induce display deterioration. SOLUTION: The display element is provided with a display medium having organic molecules 130 and a plurality of nano-particles 110 in a dispersion medium 120 and makes the display state variable in accordance with distribution states of the nano-particles in the dispersion medium. The organic molecules are constructed in such a way that an organic molecule assembled state in which the organic molecules are assembled and an organic molecule disintegrated state in which the organic molecule assembled state is disintegrated can be formed with electric signals, and the display element is constructed in such a way that a dispersed state (the B side in the figure) in which the nano-particles are dispersed and distributed in the dispersion medium is induced by the organic molecule disintegrated state and a coagulated state (the A side in the figure) in which the nano-particles are distributed in the dispersion medium in a mutually more densely assembled state than in the dispersed state is induced by the organic molecule assembled state.
