PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base material for a mattress, which eliminates uneven distribution of fibers composing the base material, even if it is repeatedly housed and carried, has a light weight and easily bent, and hardly settles, when housed in a skin fabric for the mattress. SOLUTION: The base material for the mattress is formed by adhesion of thermosetting resin to a nonwoven fabric composed of spiral crimped fibers and highly crimped hollow fibers. The thermosetting resin preferably employs an acrylic resin, and further the acrylic resin preferably has a glass transition temperature Tg of <-5°C. Additionally, the base material for the mattress preferably has a flexibility of≤50 cm and a compression settling rate of≤15 %. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
