HOLDER FOR CLEANING IMPLEMENT

The holder for a cleaning implement has a somewhat oval bottom edge with the forward portion of the bottom edge having a larger radius than the rearward portion. A slightly outwardly convex side surface extends upwardly and inwardly from the bottom edge to a top surface which slopes downwardly from the front to the rear. Forward and rearward recesses are disposed in the top surface. The forward recess has a somewhat trapezoidal peripheral edge at the top surface. The forward recess is formed by a surface sloping downwardly and inwardly from the rear edge portion of the peripheral edge of the recess and a surface sloping downwardly and inwardly from the forward and side edge portions of the peripheral edge of the recess. The rear recess has a peripheral edge at the top surface including a straight edge portion adjacent to the rear edge portion of the peripheral edge of the forward recess, opposite outwardly convex side edge portions which converge in a rearward direction and a rounded rear edge portion extending between the side edge portions. The rear recess is defined by a side surface which extends downwardly from the front and side edge portions of the peripheral edge of the recess to a bottom surface. A surface having a U-shaped horizontal cross-section extends upwardly and forwardly from the rear portion of the top surface and then upwardly and very slightly rearwardly. The opposite forward edges of this surface have a generally S-shaped configuration as best seen in the right side elevational view.
