PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a television receiver employing a smart antenna capable of detecting directivities in optimum directions in a short time. SOLUTION: Since the television receiver detects a state of signals only of directivities wherein horizontal synchronizing signals in full directivities are detected, the television receiver can particularize some of optimum directivities among the full directivities D1 to D16 without the need for detecting AGC voltages of the full directivities D1 to D16.
