PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform color area mapping for reducing the difference of color tones between a plurality of printers, without performing complicated processing in image processing for mapping color areas of a monitor to color areas of the plurality of printers. SOLUTION: With regard to a plurality of printers A, B, C, a line whereon colors outputted therefrom indicate the same hue, is specified, a color space for making the line linear, as much as possible, is determined and in this color space, a mapping relation, keeping a hue angle constant from the color areas of a monitor to color areas of each of the printers A, B, C, is determined. Thus, the color on an equal hue line transits to the color on the equal hue line or a color close thereto by color area mapping, and color tones of images printed out of the printers A, B, C can be prevented from becoming comparatively considerably different by simple processing.
