摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pixel aligning method in a projection type display with which respective pixels of respective color light valves in the whole area on a screen can be aligned, and to provide a projection type display apparatus where the pixels are aligned with the aforesaid method. SOLUTION: Light emitted from a light source is separated into a plurality of color light beams, and the color-separated light beams are made incident on light valves arranged according to a plurality of colors. A 1st chart for roughly adjusting the pixel positions of the light valves arranged according to the plurality of colors is emitted from the light valves arranged according to the plurality of colors, then, projected on the screen through a projection lens. The pixels of the light valves arranged according to the plurality of colors are aligned on the 1st chart projected on the screen. A 2nd chart for finely adjusting the pixel positions of the light valves arranged according to the plurality of colors is emitted from the light valves arranged according to the plurality of colors, and then, projected on the screen through the projection lens.
