PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plate-like folding umbrella, easily stored and light-weighted. SOLUTION: A form 2 is fitted to a waterproof cloth piece 1 of the umbrella, the waterproof cloth pieces are arranged like a plate to be folded in three, and the adjacent waterproof cloth pieces are sewn up. The central part is fixed to keep a semi-spherical shape on the whole, and fixing of the central part is released to be folded like a thin trapezoidal shape. A handle 24 of the umbrella is shaped like an antenna of a radio to be easily stored. Since it is sufficient that the form has hardness in some degree except the fixed part, the form is formed of raw material such as plastic or carbon to be reduced in weight.
