PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle seat surely retaining a member to be supported in a favorable state. SOLUTION: This vehicle seat 1 is provided with a seat cushion 2, a seat back 3, and a slide mechanism 4 supporting the seat cushion 2 slidably in the front/rear direction relative to the seat back 3. An ECU 6 which controls the position of the seat cushion 2 to retain the member to be supported is provided between the front end or the rear end of the seat cushion 2 and the seat back 3 or a front panel F on which the front end or the rear end abuts. This seat is further provided with a driving motor 5 for moving the seat cushion 2 slidably forward/backward and a contact sensor 8 detecting the catching of the member to be supported between the seat cushion 2 and the seat back 3. The ECU 6 controls the driving motor 5 to move the seat cushion 2 slidably forward and then moving the seat cushion 2 slidably backward till the contact sensor 8 detects the catching.
