PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compressor where the generation of the defect in the operation of a gate member caused by the remaining pressure of a briquette can be prevented without reducing operation efficiency. SOLUTION: The compressor 1 is provided with: a cylindrical body 13 composing a compression chamber for compressing grinding sludge S; a pressurization mechanism R for pressurizing the grinding sludge S; and a gate mechanism G for opening and closing the opening K of the cylindrical body 13. The gate mechanism G is provided with a pressure welding release mechanism 50 for releasing the pressure-welding state between the gate member 17 and the edge face 16 of the cylindrical body 13 at the time when the gate member 17 is moved from a position for clogging the opening K of the cylindrical body 13 to a position for releasing the opening K.
