A game device with which a game is played such that a moving body such as a ball displayed on a screen is caused to hit one or more targets displayed on the screen. The moving body in movement displayed on the screen of a TV set is caused to hit the targets by changing the movement of the moving body based on an input from an input device operated by a game player. Operation timing determination means (49) determines timing of operation of the input device operated by the player. Means (51) for changing the moving direction of the moving body changes, upon receiving a change command while moving the moving body, the direction of movement of the moving body according to the change command. The operation timing determination means outputs the change command to the means for changing the moving direction of the moving body based on the determined operation timing.
