The invention relates to a device for identifying fingerprints. The inventive device comprises a housing provided with an area for pressing several fingers of a hand and an area for a thumb, said areas being arranged at an angle with respect to each other. The housing is provided with at least one scanner for the hand and the thumb, respectively for recording at least the prints of fingers and of the thumb, respectively.
