<p>A process for the preparation of a rubber extender oil composition having a polynuclear aromatics content of at most 3 wt.% (IP346) is provided. A hydrotreated paraffinic base oil having a polynuclear aromatics content of at most 3 wt.% is blended with a hydrotreated naphthenic base oil having a polynuclear aromatics content of at most 3 wt.%.</p>
