PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce size of a driving unit which turnably drives a deflection mirror provided to an optical space communication apparatus. SOLUTION: The light deflection apparatus has a deflection member (35) which deflects a luminous flux, a turning mechanism (17) which turnably supports the deflection member around a first and a second axes which are nearly orthogonal to each other, and an actuator (16) which drives the turning mechanism. The turning mechanism is arranged at a place opposite to the incident side of the luminous flux of the deflection member and the actuator is arranged outside the turning mechanism in the direction along the first and the second axes.
