PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively use a sheet material carrying surface of a feeding roller, and to eliminate malfunction that sheet materials rush into a feeding device when setting the sheet materials in a loading part. SOLUTION: The automatic feeding device is provided with the feeding roller 11 for feeding the sheet materials from the loading part, a separating roller 12 for abutting on the feeding roller 11 to separate the sheet materials one by one, a return lever 13 for pushing the sheet materials back to the loading part for alignment and a flange part 14 to be integrally rotated with the feeding roller, and they are structured so that the feeding roller 11 and the return lever 13 are not overlapped with each other and that the flange part 13 and the return lever 13 are overlapped with each other with a view from side during the time when the feeding roller 11 rotates once.
