PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating composition, which can form one-pack type of a photocatalytic layer having a photocatalytic activity and excellent fouling resistance, weather resistance, durability and adhesion to a base material. SOLUTION: The coating composition comprises at least the compound of formula (1), a cellulose derivative and a photocatalyst, where R<SP>1</SP>is a 1-10C alkyl group, M<SP>1</SP>is a metal atom, X is a reactive group, m is the valence of M<SP>1</SP>, n is an integer of either 0 or (m-2).
