PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for cooling and loosening a sand mold, which can quickly cool and loosen the sand mold in which molten aluminum or aluminum alloy is cast. SOLUTION: The device for cooling and loosening the sand mold comprises a cooling water tank 31, a filtering unit 32, circulation piping 33, a pressure regulator 35, a flow regulator 36 and an injection nozzle 37. A sand mold 40, in which the molten aluminum or aluminum alloy is poured, is immersed in the cooling water tank 31. The filtering unit 32 filters cooling water in the cooling water tank 31 and then return the cooling water to the cooling water tank 31. The circulation piping 33 connects the filtering unit 32 and the cooling water tank 31. The pressure regulator 35 and the flow regulator 36 are installed in the circulation piping 33 on the outlet side of the filtering unit 32. The pressure regulator 35 controls the pressure of the circulating water, and the flow regulator 36 controls the flow volume of the circulating water. The circulation water returned to the cooling water tank 31 through the circulation piping 33 is jetted by the injection nozzle 37 from an injection port open in the water of the cooling water tank 31 to the sand mold 40 for cooling the casting.
