<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an audio apparatus preventing sound outputted from a speaker from being interrupted. <P>SOLUTION: The audio apparatus 1 is provided with: a detection circuit 10 for detecting a received signal and outputting a stereo composite signal; a stereo demodulation circuit 30 for stereophonically demodulating the stereo composite signal and outputting a stereo signal; a surround circuit 40 for generating a surround signal from the stereo signal; a power amplifier 50 and speakers 60a to 60h outputting the stereo signal or the surround signal; an electric field strength judgment circuit 21 for comparing the electric field intensity of the received signal with a first threshold; a separation judgment circuit 22 for comparing the separation of the stereo signal with a second threshold, and a mode selection circuit 20 having an AND circuit 23 for generating a control signal to the surround circuit 40 on the basis of the judgment results of the electric field strength judgment circuit 21 and the separation judgment circuit 22. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
