<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of stably forming images for a long period by preventing an image from decreasing in density and having a longitudinal stripe by preventing a developer from sticking to a developer restricting member and fusing in a developing means and also preventing toner from sticking even when images specially having a high print rate are successively outputted. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has a 1st voltage applying means 10 of applying a voltage to a developer carrier 8, a 2nd voltage applying means 11 of applying a voltage to the developer restricting member 9, and a control means 14 of controlling operations of the 1st voltage applying means 10 and 2nd voltage applying means 9, those means being provided in the developing means 4; and the control means 14 controls the 1st voltage applying means 10 or 2nd voltage applying means 9 so that the developer carrier 8 and developer restricting member 9 are so related during rotation of the developer carrier 8 to have a potential different when an image is not formed, and also controls the potential difference according to image information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
