<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that possibility that induced Brillouin scattering (SBS) is generated becomes high since it is necessary to enhance light emission power of a light source at the time of long distance optical transmission using an optical fiber. <P>SOLUTION: This optical transmission system is provided with a distribution means for distributing an input signal, the light source for outputting the input signal distributed in the distribution means as an optical intensity signal, a variable bias current source for impressing bias current on the light source and adjusting average light emission power of the light source, a level detection means for detecting a level of the input signal distributed in the distribution means, detection information to be outputted from the level detection means and a control means for controlling a bias current value of the variable bias current source to a preset value corresponding to the detection information and controls the light emission power of the light source according to level variation of the input signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
