<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance efficiency of a recovery/recycling process and improve quality of recycling materials in recovering and recycling constituent materials of waste fluorescent lamps for reuse, and particularly enhance the recovery efficiency of phosphor and further suppress deterioration in properties of the recycled phosphor. <P>SOLUTION: A recovered waste fluorescent lamp is separated according to the type and product class, and a phosphor layer is separated from the internal face of a glass bulb to separate phosphor from glass and recover them. The recovered phosphor material and glass are recycled for reuse. In this case, in the course of recycling the recovered phosphor, for example, the recovered phosphor is fired in vacuum or in an inert atmosphere to remove mercury contained in the recovered phosphor.
