<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing technology for attaining a spatial filtering process which does not lose an impression of an original image as much as possible even by sufficiently receiving a filter effect. <P>SOLUTION: The image processing technology forms output image data by performing the spatial filtering process to input image data. The calculated value of a spatial filter to a pixel to be interpolated is calculated as a temporary value. A differential value is obtained between the input pixel value of the pixel to be interpolated and the temporary value. A gradually suppressing factors for gradually suppressing the magnitude of the differential value is obtained according to the magnitude of the differential value. The numeric value obtained by multiplying the gradual suppressing coefficient by the differential value is added to the input pixel value of the pixel to be interpolated, thereby setting the output value of the spatial filtering process to the pixel to be interpolated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
