<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a speech recognition grammar generating device which enables editing operation such as division and correction of a rule to be easily performed without changing windows. <P>SOLUTION: The speech recognition grammar generating device uses a GUI (graphical user interface) to display a rule name as the left side of a rule definition and a word and a rule reference of the right side of the rule definition as nodes, and the node of the left side and the nodes of the right side are connected by a link. Consequently, the rule is edited.
