摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium which realizes improvement of recording density by improving an orientation in a circumferential direction, and to provide a manufacturing method and a magnetic storage device thereof. SOLUTION: A seed layer 12, an underlayer 13, a recording layer 18 consisting of a first magnetic layer 14/a non-magnetic binding layer 15/a second magnetic layer 16, a protection layer 19, and a lubrication layer 20 are formed in this order on a disk substrate 11. The seed layer 12 is made from alloy material formed of a B2 crystal structure of AlRu, NiAl, FeAl, etc., and is formed with its [100] crystal orientation tilted toward an outer periphery side from a substrate normal line. The (c) axis direction of crystal grains constituting the recording layer 18 is oriented in the peripheral direction to improve circumferential direction coercive force Hcc and orientation (=circumferential direction coercive force/radial direction coercive force). The seed layer 12 is formed by making sputter particle incident from the outer periphery side of the disk substrate 11 toward an inner periphery side at a prescribed angle tilting from the substrate normal line toward the outer periphery side.
