PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a duplex system that achieves stable data sharing by doubling the operating systems of two computers that constitute the system, and achieving data sharing using the operating system of the subordinate computer. SOLUTION: A main computer 1 and a standby computer 2 are connected together via a network 3. The computers include respective control operating systems 11, 21 that execute applications 16, 26, and respective data-sharing operating systems 12, 22 that serve as the subordinate operating systems of the control operating systems 11, 21 to control data to be shared by the two computers. The data-sharing operating systems 12, 22 of the computers comprise respective shared data 14, 24, respective data servers 13, 23, and respective data sharing functions 15, 25 that allow the two computers to share the data by communicating with each other.
