PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method enabling an object identifying information with high accuracy to be outputted regardless of flapping of object. SOLUTION: Physical external force is applied to an object 3 to be identified by an external-force applying means 2. While detecting the signals from the object 3 resulting from the external force applied by the external-force applying means 2 by a signal detecting means 4, the output signals from the signal detecting means 4 are processed by a signal processing means 5, and then according to the processed signals from the signal processing means 5 the information for identifying the object is made to be outputted. Further, by utilizing a shock-absorbing means 17 for preventing the deformation more than the designated one caused by the external force from generating in the object to be identified, the output information gets stabilized while the object 3 to be identified being prevented from breaking.
