PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water jet loom picking nozzle which does not need the exchange of a nozzle body and a weft-guiding needle in response to the kind of a weft and can prevent the irregularity of a flow-straightening performance for pressure water, even when the position of the weft-guiding needle is adjusted. SOLUTION: This water jet loom picking nozzle manufactured by forming a water channel 22 between the outer surface of the weft-guiding needle 18 and the inner surface of the nozzle body 14, forming a jet port 28 for jetting the pressure water on the tip side of the weft-guiding needle 18, circularly disposing flow-straightening elements 32 toward the outer surface of the needle, forming a tapered hole 26 whose diameter is decreased from the downstream side of the flow-straightening elements 32 to the jetting port 28, and forming a throttled channel 27 between the inner surface of the tapered hole 26 and the outer surface of the needle, is characterized by forward or backward moving the weft-guiding needle 18 to adjust the opening area of the jetting port 28, and forming a constant diameter region 21b having a constant needle outside diameter to fix a space between the outer surface of the needle and the flow-straightening elements 32.
