PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antistatic agent for thermoplastic polymers that can furnish sufficiently long-lasting antistatic properties to thermoplastic polymer molded articles, and is, at the same time, desirably excellent in properties such as reutilizability of the thermoplastic polymer molded articles, etc., coating properties to the thermoplastic polymer molded articles, resistance to transfer from the thermoplastic polymer molded articles, blocking resistance between the thermoplastic polymer molded articles, and tackiness-free properties of the thermoplastic polymer molded articles, as well as an antistatic method of the thermoplastic polymer molded articles using the composition, and a thermoplastic polymer molded article having antistatic properties obtained by using the composition. SOLUTION: A vinyl copolymer with a specific number average molecular weight that has a constituent unit formed from a specific monomer having a quaternary ammonium base and a constituent unit formed from a specific cross-linkable monomer at a specific ratio in a molecule, is used as the antistatic agent for thermoplastic polymers.
