PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock absorber stand centering device of an elevator allowing easy installation of an shock absorber stand in a prescribed position of a bottom surface of a hoistway. SOLUTION: A mounting body 4 is installed in the prescribed position of an inside of the hoistway 1 corresponding to a centering position by a plumb-bob line 2 of the hoistway 1. Both ends of a support body 7 are fastened to the mounting body 4 and a horizontal centering body 8, and the horizontal centering body 8 is arranged in the prescribed position on a horizontal projection surface. A vertical centering body 14 is arranged at a longitudinal end of the shock absorber stand 12 of the bottom surface 13 of the hoistway 1, and erected on the prescribed position in a vertical attitude. A position of the shock absorbing stand 12 is adjusted to a state in which a centering surface of the vertical centering body 14 is in contact with a centering reference surface of the horizontal centering body 8 to be centered. Hence, work for adjusting height of the mounting body 4 to that of the shock absorbing stand 12 is omitted, and installation of the shock absorbing stand 12 in the prescribed position is simplified.
