PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide apparatus for an elevator, capable of easily performing fixation and removal of a friction shoe with respect to a longitudinal frame. SOLUTION: In the guide apparatus for the elevator which has the friction shoe 5 fitted into the longitudinal frame 2 of a car 1 and brought into sliding contact with a guide rail erected on a hoistway to guide hoisting of the car 1, the friction shoe 5 is mounted by mounting means having a mounting direction orthogonal to the extending direction of the longitudinal frame 2 from the side direction, for example a bracket 10 provided on the longitudinal frame 2 and having a rising piece 10a and bolts 11 fixing the friction shoe 5 to the rising piece 10a.
