PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a centrifugal separator capable of centrifuging a suspension with small specific gravity difference without putting excess load on a motor or the like. SOLUTION: A centrifugal separator 1 is comprised of a rotary body 2, a basic case part 5 housing the rotary body 2, a rotational mechanism part 12 rotating the rotary body 2 with high speed, a combined unit 3 constituted by integrating a suspension discharge part 15 discharging a suspension to an inside wall face of the rotary body 2, a scraper peeling mechanism part 16 scraping a piled solid-phase and a liquid-phase collection part 18 recovering the liquid-phase, an interlocking/displacement mechanism part displacing a scraper 19 and a liquid-phase taking in part 20 in interlock with each other, a solid-phase collection part 24 recovering the peeled solid-phase, a lid part opening/closing control mechanism part controlling a lid part 25 and its opening/closing, a second rotary mechanism part 28 rotating the rotary body 2 with low speed, and a clutch mechanism part 29 switching the rotation.
