PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently separate oil and used liquid from used oil-containing liquid. SOLUTION: An oil separation apparatus is installed in a storage tank (not illustrated) for storing the used oil-containing liquid, and comprises a suction device 2 and a floatation tank 5 for separating the oil from the used oil-containing liquid. The suction device 2 which sucks floating oil in the used oil-containing liquid to feed the floating oil to the floatation tank 5 at the subsequent stage comprises a suction means which can suck the floating oil, for example, a suction pipe 3 equipped with an air ejector 32, and a float 21 which can make the tip suction opening 31 of the suction pipe 3 approach a floating oil surface 41 from above with the prescribed distance h. While making the suction opening 31 face the floating oil surface 41 from above and keeping the distance h from the floating oil surface constant, the floating oil is selectively sucked by the suction power of the air ejector 32.
