Provided is a system and apparatus for monitoring and controlling, using a programmable logic computer ("PLC"), a bottle filling operation which uses a carousel filler device having a number of filling stations or positions capable of being flushed with cleansing water. Inputs from filler parameter sensors to said PLC are adapted to make evaluations to detect any errors in the filler operations; to create an inventory of such errors and also create and provide instructions to remedy such errors by initiating prior programmed regimens of position flushings and/or other actions as the PLC has evaluated is required. Importantly, the PLC creates a nd maintains a history of detected errors for each individual filler position on a real tim e basis allowing for immediate detection and correction of individual defective filler positions.
