PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance entertainment performance in screen display of a road map, in an on-vehicle navigation system. SOLUTION: Animations related to respective items are displayed superposedly on the road map, as to the prescribed items (mountain, water area, railway and the like) of a road map data. For example, the animation of a flying aircraft in the vicinity of a top of the mountain is displayed in the mountain, kinds of the displayed aircrafts are changed further in response to heights of the mountains. Work information from a VICS and traffic congestion information are also displayed by the animations. The animation of a traveling automobile is used as the animation for expressing the congestion information to be displayed superposedly on a congestion road.
