PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce required maintenance time by easily recovering and scrapping ink discharged onto a sheet. SOLUTION: In a sheet carrying mechanism 10, a carrying surface of a carrier belt 11 is displaced to a retracting position tilted to an ink discharge surface 4a of an inkjet head 1, when ink is purged from the head 1. Next, a purging sheet 21 is displaced to an ink accepting position being between the ink discharge surface 4a and the carrying surface, along the carrying surface.
