OPTICAL INTEGRATED DEVICE DRIVEN BY SINGLE POWER SUPPLY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide optical integrated devices capable of driving them by a single power supply, by realizing a structure, wherein the electrical separation generated between the anodes of the optical integrated devices and the electrical separation generated reasonably between the cathodes of the optical integrated devices are made possible by conventional process techniques. SOLUTION: The optical integrated devices are formed on a semi-insulating or insulating substrate. The anodes of the respective optical integrated devices are electrically separated from each other. Similarly, the cathodes of the respective optical integrated devices are electrically separated from each other, by providing in optical waveguides which are separating regions installed between the respective optical integrated devices high-resistance regions at least extended from active regions to the substrate.
